Why I Write

There are certainly plenty of words “out there.”  Do I think I need to add to them?  I’m not sure.  Words are so powerful.

I write to see my words.  Words that show me my experiences, habits, desires, reactions and influences.  Journaling and Julia Cameron’s morning pages are two practices I use to learn of and nurture my spirit.

Why?  So I can take this spirit out into the world.  Be me, with a more defined idea of what that might mean.  Use my words wisely, as I learn of and am nurtured by others’ spirits.

And then? Begin again.  Come back to the page and write of my new experiences, habits, desires, reactions and influences.  Learn of and nurture my evolving spirit so I may then, with new awareness go back into the world.
