The Gift of Darkness

Day 105…

Advent.  The darkening season leading to the winter solistice, Christmas, new life and light.  The shortest days of the year.  A time for preparing, listening, watching, even as our modern world turns on the lights and noise and keeps us stirred up.

All great and beautiful work has come of first gazing without shrinking into the darkness.
John Ruskin

People are like stained-glass windows.  They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.  ~Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Hey, Laura, I read this earlier this morning, before I saw your post, and thought the two were wonderfully synchronous. Thought you would appreciate it.

Thanks for the daily inspiration, and thanks again for yesterday.
