A New Day

Day 108…

My 61st birthday. And I have no profound words.

Today I will chain myself to the computer for LSUS, entering data for  interns that I didn’t finish yesterday.  That will take at least five hours.  But I will drink hot chocolate and eat cookies throughout.

Then I will go to The Nutcracker with two dear friends to watch my beautiful niece dance.

I’m looking forward to the potential of this day.

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think.  Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.  ~A.A. Milne

ah, yes! the sweetness of anticipation…the longing that makes us know something better is ahead. closely related to the dissatisfaction that lets us know heaven is real!
