Getting Grounded

Day 153…

I just “am” today, letting  recent experiences and stimulii run through me without a lot of interference from my know-it-all self.

The intern seminars, one all-female, elementary group, the other a slight-majority male secondary class.

The writing group last night with two new women.

The phone calls from a dear friend who’s making decisions for her 91-year-old mother.

The movies I’ve just seen:  The King’s Speech (about King George VI), Witness from the Balcony of Room 306 (about the assasination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), Anastasia (the Disney version).

The books I’ve just finished:  Before You Know Kindness by Chris Bohjalian, The Confession by John Grisham, The Honey Thief by Elizabeth Graver

The daily interactions in stores, on walks, while driving, through the mail, around my house.

What is on the horizon:  today’s afterschool science classes using microscopes, a new recipe, more rain.

Watching the comings and goings, listening to them, learning from them, aware they become part of me.

Composting a life.

I love the topics you write about – and the way you write. It’s nice to have ‘found’ your blog 🙂
