Connecting in Class

Day 193…

I go from one class visit to another looking for positive connections.  A lesson full of creative energy in a classroom of enthusiastic children and a passionate teacher.  How does this connection happen? 

During the NCATE visit I heard much talk about people that are born teachers.  What exactly does that mean?  What does that mean for a teacher education program?  

The seminars I facilitate only last an hour a week.  But it’s an hour after a long day in their own classrooms.   What do we do in one hour that inspires meaningful participation?  How do we wake to a new idea or two, or challenge an old worn out habit?  How do we transfer the experience in our seminar to the 58 individual classrooms?  

A lesson with creative energy.  Enthusiastic students.  A passionate teacher.
