The Healing Dance

Day 258…

Finished reading a book last night that “woke me up” this morning.  Codependence:  The Dance of Wounded Souls by Robert Burney contained words and ideas I had heard from my minister/therapist over a decade ago.  The words and ideas I have been writing about and  finding meaning for in my life all these years.

Obviously there were reasons I have just now found this book.  I needed time and space to go within.  To learn who I am.  Not to just parrot another, but rather to learn of Love from my own experiences, words, and feelings.

Burney says “In God we are LOVE.  Without the illusion of separation we would never have had the opportunity to experience Love.  Would never have been able to Love and be Loved.

Separation was necessary to allow us the incredible gift of experiencing Love, of Loving and being Loved.”

Other quotes from his book:

In order to start be-ing in the moment in a healthy, age-appropriate way it is necessary to heal our “inner child.”  The inner child we need to heal is actually our “inner children” who have been running our lives because we have been unconsciously reacting to life out of the emotional wounds and attitudes, the old tapes, of our childhoods.

Codependence deals with the core issues of the human dilemma.  Codependence has grown out of the cause from which all symptoms arise. That cause is Spiritual dis-ease: not being at ease, at one with Spiritual Self.

We are not sinful, shameful human creatures who have to somehow earn Spirituality.  We are Spiritual Beings having a human experience.

Writing topic:  Being loved
